Beausejour, Manitoba’s Tracy K commands the stage with innate showmanship. She possesses nine awards for her expressive singing, excellent songwriting, and exquisite harmonica skill. Her vast repertoire invokes deep dives into early jazz and folk-blues with broader influences of Billie Holiday, Sippie Wallace, and Bonnie Raitt. Blues and Jazz festivals and tour dates across Canada and the US begat highlights like the Memphis International Blues Challenge, the Toronto Blues Society Women’s Blues Revue, and a Western Canadian Music Awards ‘Blues Artist of the Year’ nomination. With the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra she procured a tribute to Billie Holiday, and a concert of Legendary Songs by Legendary Women. Tracy K keeps her blue flame burning with her acoustic duo and four piece band, continuing to deliver dynamic live performances.
Nadia Douglas is a versatile jazz artist who knows how to breathe fresh life into a wide range of musical styles. Nadia’s captivating voice takes audiences on a journey through classic standards, swing jazz, Latin favorites and beautiful ballads from the 1920s and beyond. Backed by some of the best musicians in Winnipeg, Nadia always adds a sprinkle of old school favorites to add an extra layer of flavor to any show.
HELEN WHITE: Seasoned jazz singer and pianist Helen White enjoys performing in every location – whether it’s a big glitzy show in a theatre with an 8-piece band; an outdoor patio as a duo; or in a hotel lounge or casino playing solo. She is a regular at all the main jazz venues in Winnipeg and has been delighted to be a guest artist with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra several times and involved in many jazz, rock and pop festivals; in Canada, US & UK.
Helen has recorded three full-length studio albums (two of original material) and in 2024 will be recording her much-awaited next originals album! With a Masters in Jazz Performance (U of M, Canada) and a BA Hons in Creative Music Sound Technology and Performance (ARU, Cambridge, UK), Helen has taught voice instruction and piano for two decades and continues to perform regularly and loves to bring the gift of music to audiences and students.
Meet Marcie Campbell, a versatile vocalist whose love for jazz has become the soulful melody of her life. Born and raised in the heart of Canada, Marcie proudly hails from Winnipeg, a city that echoes with the rhythm of her passion. Her musical journey took a pivotal turn at Humber College, where Marcie immersed herself in the intricacies of the art of performance. The college’s music program became her training ground, shaping
her into the accomplished artist she is today.
Leila Kristjanson: Yes Ann is a dynamic small jazz ensemble from u of m that feature two female horn leads. The sextet showcases their music with captivating performances of jazz and Latin jazz pieces, drawing inspiration from legendary artists such as Nina Simone, Blue Mitchell, Chick Corea, and Antonio Jobim.
Driven by their passion for challenging musical arrangements, the ensemble is dedicated to mastering intricate repertoire that push each other’s boundaries, encouraging the development of creative solos and harmonies that complement one another.
Jess Kraft: With a musical upbringing that included piano and vocal lessons, Jess Kraft was introduced to the golden age of jazz music through her late grandmother whose influence has in no small way led Jess to take centre stage as the lead singer of the local cover band “3 Drinks In.” In addition to singing in a wide range of musical styles, Jess is a skilful harmonica and acoustic guitar player. Her loyal fan base includes her two young daughters who delight in singing alongside their mother, affirming that the musical tradition will be carried on to the next generation.
Lady Lee: The Lady has been a musician for 25 years playing rock, Blues, R & B and Jazz, currently with BLUE NOISE the band has performed at all the clubs in and around Winnipeg as well as across Canada, Rich vocals, great dance tunes, Lady Lee has played at The Windsor Hotel, The Museum of Man and Nature – Shaking all Over, The Pembina with George Reznik, The Emporium at
Winnipeg Beach, The Edmonton Blues Festival, The Winnipeg Blues Festival and recently with the
Prairie Theatre Exchange for the amazing theater piece “Life, Death and the Blues” with Divine
Brown. BLUE NOISE has also been the back up band for many Blues musicians at many music
jams in Winnipeg.
